Your Business Needs a Responsive Website

Responsive web design is the up and coming method of website design, with huge gains in popularity over the last year. This method solves the problems of the past where you would have to have several sites designed to show well on the various devices people use.  Now with responsive design, the site delivers an optimal viewing experience to all users regardless of their device.  You know you have seen sites that look great on the desktop but when you pull it up on your phone, it is just a really tiny version of the desktop view and you have to zoom in and move the screen around to find what you want.  What a pain!

The overall trend is more and more visitors will be coming to your site from devices other than desktop computers, such as phones of several different sizes, multiple sized tablets and laptops.  So you can see how a good viewing experience will be important for them.  Consider the quote from Jeffrey Veen below.

“Day by day, the number of devices, platforms, and browsers that need to work with your site grows. Responsive web design represents a fundamental shift in how we’ll build websites for the decade to come.”- Jeffrey Veen

The next evolution was the best, brightest and wealthiest companies had multiple sites made for various devices.  Then came responsive design and those companies of course were first again. But it is still early and you can be right there with them.  The future for websites is mobile.  More and more people are using mobile devices as their only computer.  You can not afford to be left in the dark ages with your website.
